Subject: Can't update widget!

Every time I go to submit my update, nothing happens. The page stays the same, as if the button doesn't work.
What's going on?

Subject: Accessing the widget object from server-side script

No, but it is possible to pass the necessary information back to the widget so it can resize itself.
If that doesn't work, please provide some more information so we can help.

Where are you placing it in your code?
The z-index won't effect the cursor.

Assuming you're using a style sheet, all you need to do is change the cursor property:
cursor: pointer;

Why do that when you can simply have a text field on the back preferences where the user can input the url?
Hardcoding is bad design.

It depends on what's going on in the background. I've only been able to reproduce that by flipping the widget very fast several times in a row.

No.
The best way to learn this stuff is to just screw around with it. Learn from experience.

Sorry, but most of us are busy writing code for our own projects. I wish I could help more, but school keeps me busy.

You're using the wrong approach. Instead of changing the hrefs, just take the contents of the href into a function.
var link = element.href;
