Hiya Dashboard Enthusiasts!

About two months ago, I noticed that the widgets that require some sort of online communication were not working. It began with the translation widget that is packaged with OS 10.4.

Since then, I've found that my doppler radar and other services that require communicating with servers no long display or connect with their servers.

My DSL is fully operational, obviously I'm online writing this right now.

That was bad enough, but now even the text snippets that I store on my stickies can't be brought up. The sticky background is there, but the text doesn't arrive.

I considered the possibility that my doppler view was past a registration period, or their server had changed location, so I downloaded the same item, as well as a few other weather widgets, but none work.

Finally, the widget that is used to manage the other widgets is non-responsive. I try and interact with it, but the drop down menu doesn't open. I can't even close it by clicking on the "X".

My software is all up to date, currently running 10.4.5

Any ideas?

Thanks.
-al.

I know how, but I don't know who to ping. Got a URL? Say, for the bundled translation widget?

I don't think its just the translation, its all my widgets, I can't even get the stickies to display the text content I saved there.

I also use the US Weather Doppler Radar widget. Got a URL for them?

Okay. It does seem to be some system wide issue.

Is there a utility already in the OS to do the cache clearing and permission repairing thingy?

Applejack did the trick. Widgets are back up and running, and my computer runs a lot quicker too!

Thanks for the tip!
