WTF?
I know I'm not the only person having problems with the translation widget jamming and you know. How do I fix this because it seems the most useful widget to me at least is the one that gives the most problems out of all of them...
it won't let me type in any text nor change the "to" language in the dropdown menu (for it wont change from "undefined"). Any suggestions to fix this? I already have installed 10.4.2.
thanks!

seb

I'm having the same problem...and don't know why. This is too bad because I really need it, I'm taking German now in High School and need a tool like this.

You're in luck!!! This happened to me and I fixed it by deleting the preference file!

•Go to folder: ~/Library/Preferences
•Find file: "widget-com.apple.widget.translation.plist" (without quote marks)
•Drag it to the trash. Don't worry, nothing bad will happen, just get rid of it. The widget will recreate it.
•Try the widget and it should now work!
(By the way, the "~/" in the file path is your user folder, e.g. "Bob")

As for why the widget got messed up in the first place, I have no clue.
