Hi,

I need a basic idea as to how to embed flash for a widget. I tried using some directions from a July thread here on the board, but it doesn't want to work. Basically, I'm looking for the code (HTML), the .plist properties, and.... everything else!

Thanks,
Jake

Code:
<object classid="clsid<img src="http://thedashboarder.com/forums/img/smilies/biglol.gif" border="0" align="" alt="">27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swfl ash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="323" height="36">
<br>          <param name="movie" value="myflash.swf">
<br>          <param name=quality value=high>
<br>          <embed src="myflash.swf" quality=high pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1 _Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="323" height="36"></embed>
<br></object>

try this in your html

just replace the (myflash) with your flash name

Hi,

Sorry so slow to reply. I was using the above code; the standard object/embed tags. What I needed was Dashboard to recognize my .swf. After watching the "Developing Dashboard Widgets" Quicktime again, I realized what I was missing. There is an "AllowInternetPlugins" property in the info.plist files. I set the value to yes, and sure enough my widget worked! Hooray.
