What I thought was in interesting idea, was the possiblity of Widgets communicating between eachother the way web documents can when assigned target names. For example, if you had a Widget which was open under the name "wdg1," and an anchor on another Widget targets "wdg1," would that work in Dashboard?

That would be pretty cool. I just highly doubt that it would work in the current version of DB.

i imagine it could be done.

technically, each widget is supposed to be in a world to it's own, but if you can write to a file (a database for instance) then two separte widgets might be able to look at the same data (if it's on the internet or network).

this is just thinking out loud stuff though

You could probably get two widgets to communicate by using NSNotifications in their plugins, but you'd specifically have to add the communication feature to each widget plugin, it wouldn't just work with any old widget.
