References - PHPQuickReference

Description: PHPQuickReference is a widget to search, browse and display online PHP documentation. All you have to do is enter the term you want to know about and it will do the rest. The widget provides basic HTML formatting and intelligent hyperlink management. Links recognized as reference topics are automatically browsed by the widget itself. Other links are sent to the default browser.

If you are a PHP developer, PHPQuickReference is what you were searching for. Just bring down Dashboard and find the reference of that function you don't remember!

This is exactly the widget I've been hoping for since Dashboard was released. I know a good bit of PHP but it's quite often that specific functions elude me.

The only possible improvement I can think of is a way to initiate a search when the return key is pressed.

Great widget. One of my new favorites. One of the main reasons I visit the PHP docs is to browse the function list though, mostly to remember what the function I'm looking for is called, or to see if a function exists for what I'm doing. PHP is often a tough language to guess the function names for, so it would be great to be able to browse the category pages of the docs more easily. It's easy to open the Array Functions page by searching for "array," but the String Functions page is harder to get to, for example. Perhaps that's beyond the scope you had in mind for the widget, so it's entirely up to you. Also, scroll-wheel support would be grand. Anyway, keep up the good work!

A comment:

When searching for a function in this widget that doesn't exist, the widget dropped down with "WIDGET NOT FOUND" in v. 0.3 (in 0.4 it just drops down with a blank window) and drops back up. However, if you search for a non-existant function on www.php.net, it gives you a list of functions that MAY relate to what you are looking for. It would be nice if this "Possible Searches" list could be displayed in this widget.
