What a stupid widget...

THAT IS CO COOL. Ignore the person who has no widget making ability anyway, and doesn't understand the concept of being grateful to people who make things for free.

Hmm... a retro-like Tamagottchi widget might be good too. I personally have no use for these though.
I'm only commenting because I found it difficult to understand exactly how to "play". I think you have to keep the colored rings as full as possible, but it doesn't seem like one can over do it, nor do different combinations yield anything interesting.... Essentially, isn't this just a timer to see how long it has been since visiting the Dash and feeding/watering/loving the tiger? Not much fun, I would think, because one can just click umpteen times on all the buttons all the time and just see a happy tiger. And I don't personally advocate the kind of fun one gets by watching it starve, etc. Not with tigers. Only with rhinos, cows, or salt-water fish.
Looks nice, and works, but the level of simplicity makes it something other than what I expected with a name like "tigergotchi".

its actually quite a nice idea. I like how he gets fat when you feed him. the sounds are nice as well.
for a first version, its quite well done. just a fun little thing to have in your dashboard and check up on when you use some widgets.
i like the Death picture. thats neat.

Pretty cool.
It would be nice if the buttons (water, feed, love) would disappear (or something) to let you know when you have hit the maximum.
Also, it could be cool if there were a variety of animals (I would like an alien of some sort, like the Tamagottchi.)
Lots of fun!

Under the hood it appears clever and elegant, and is commented in a way that could be helpful to other developers. Thank you mekentosj for this contribution.

Woa! My computer has been running very hot all day, so I opened up my Activity Moniter ans sure enough my CPU was running at 100%, which is odd because I don't have any applications open. I looked, and this widget was using 75-90% of my processor (I have a G5 iMac and it takes a lot to use that much.)
I like this widget but I can't use it if it takes this much up.

I love the idea of this widget, but my dead tiger was using 70% of my processor. Widgets should use little or no processor time at all when the dashboard is hidden. This is especially important on a laptop. I wondered why my battery life was being cut in half.
