Fun & Games - miniPatience

Description: A Macintosh answer to Windows' built in Solitaire. miniPatience is a game of patience, and true to its name it is very small. Programmed by Chris O'Brien, with stunning graphics by Rick Patrick, this game uses its space minimally, while not sacrificing gameplay.

This a very old build and as such wont work right in current versions of Tiger. You can play with it in Safari for now, until I update all my widgets smiley

Nice one, works pretty good, and it's fun smiley
Two suggestions: better 'snap' (you sometimes have to drag 3 or 4 times in order to drop a stack of cards) + better distinction between symbols (spades and clubs look the same). And maybe add little numbers on the top of each card, so you can quickly see what's the last card in a stack?

First off, LOVE IT.

Now for the pain...

On inspection, the spades and clubs ARE the same (to the pixel). It took a while for me to realize that the hue of the card itself is slightly different, but that it very confusing.

The cards in the upper left are a bit confusing, as well. There's no way to tell when you've cycled through the deck, which means you have no way of knowing when you've lost (unless you start actually seeing the same cards over and over again).

In a related thought - is the card on the right the third one "drawn" or is it the one on the left?

I also agree that the snap is a bit funky.

And, finally, the cards definately need numbers. Especially for the cards that have already been placed and are under a stack of other cards.

That's. Thank you SO much for recognizing the absolute need for solitaire on the mac.

Two words. AWESOME WIDGET! I love the design, it's nice, love how you put no numbers on them, and the effects and everything. Right now I am playing in Safari.smiley Can't wait to try it in Dashboard in 5 days! Nice!

Very well done! However, I do have one suggestion: make it possible to double-click on a card to move it to the upper right. Perhaps I'm being lazy, but that would be a nice feature. Overall, though, a very good widget!

Oops...didn't see the alt/option key thing. Nix the double-click suggestion.
