Date & Time - Zone In: USA Edition

Description: Sometimes it just seems to nice to know that people in other time zones have less time than you do...or more time depending on where you and they live...

Anyway, if you're traveling, or just curious, this widget shows you the times for each time zone in the United States.

I didn't download it - but judging from your widget-shot - your Hawai'i timezone is incorrect.

Hawai'i is ALWAYS -10 GMT (10 hours behind GMT). thus we are 2 to 3 hours (depending on DST) behind california.

We don't observe DST

When are you doing the Canadian version?

some other states (arizona and illinois that i know of) do not observe DST either.

Yes, I know that there are some exceptions, although I did not realize the Hawaii error (and possibly Alaska?) so I'll have to correct that.

Yea, Arizona is always -7.

Nice looking widget though.

Do me a favor and make the brushed metal background optional. Unless your putting some text that require size constraints, it looks better w/o

IL uses DST, it's Indiana which doesn't use DST, but that's gonna change in the next year or two, they are switching to a varying time calendar. I would know, because I was born in Indiana and now live in IL, and my dad used to be best friends with the new governor of Indiana who proposed the switch to DST.

due to the DST change, Arizona is now in the wrong time zone.

Any update for this to correct the DST issue?

I'd really like to like this widget since it will aid me when calling colleagues in the US from Europe. However, this is not a well-behaved widget since it consumes CPU time when Dashboard is hidden. The author needs to correct this widget so that it makes use of the onhide and onshow functions (

Apart from this and the hideous brushed metal background, this widget is pretty good and useful. When an update is made to not consume CPU time when hidden then I'll reinstall this widget.
