Needs to get in touch with a decent designer.

That's kind of mean... No, I think it's nice. Good job. Maybe change the font to a little something other than Lucide Grande. Overall, good idea and nice Widget.

At least they made an attempt at making one smiley

I can't wait for Tigger to try this out. Buying junk on the web was never this fun!

I agree that the design needs to be tweaked, maybe a more Aqua feel to it? If interested, I could do a mock up for ya...let me know.

Does this work with FedEx overnight and FedEx ground?

Posted by: jcarr on Apr 15, 05 (12:19 PM) for version 1.0 (previous version)

Mean, but honest. It's just a fact that would-be developers need to pair up with graphic and UI-designers* that can contribute their skills to their coding skills.

A good UI is not about pretty graphics though.

This is exactly what we needed: support for UPS and the new interface. Great job!

This needs DHL support also.
As for the UI, I think it's ok. It certainly fits with FedEx's overall brand

nevermind, I guess this is the updated look

I LOVE it. I don't know if the criticism is for a previous version, but version 2.0 is great. I think the interface isn't bad - dashboard widgets shouldn't be totally aqua. It uses FedEx's colours, works great...... Awesome!

Wow, that looks great. HUGE improvement over the look of the first version.smiley

Mastro,
That looks awesome. I'm going to use it as soon as I get Tiger. I need to track packages all the time, so this will be a great time saver. Thank you!

Note - Does anyone know of a place where I could learn how to make widgets? LIke a website or book?

Posted by: badtz on Apr 27, 05 (11:15 AM) for version 1.0 (previous version)

Also ... maybe a way to easily switch back to UPS from FedEX?

Posted by: badtz on Apr 27, 05 (11:20 AM) for version 1.0 (previous version)

Very nicely done, this one's a keeper.

How do I make it so that it shows up in my dashboard dock? I'm having to physically click the widget file to make it work.

Posted by: powerbook911 on Apr 29, 05 (1:24 AM) for version 1.0 (previous version)

Good job, like it, real handy, small & unobtrusive.

great widget! But I too would love to see some USPS support.

Posted by: Trepanater on May 11, 05 (2:44 AM) for version 2.1 (current version)

Very nicely designed, and one of the more useful widgets yet, for me anyway. Estimated delivery date would be nice. I give it 5 stars. Did I mention it looks great?

Does the UPS tracking work for anyone now? It hasn't worked the past few days for me.

Posted by: powerbook911 on May 18, 05 (6:55 AM) for version 2.1 (current version)

That widget is supercool, but they recently changed something on the UPS website so that either in the old or the new version UPS waybill # cannot be tracked anymore.
Would be cool to see a fix soon.

Anyway, one of the best widgets ever created.

Excellent widget! Just one suggestion... Could it be possible to include a notification about updates?

Wow, I REALLY hate this widget! It turns me into a freak internet shopper... I'm a shop-o-holic now!!

But "MMMmmmm...Packages..."

Great to have package tracking in a widget!

Posted by: SuperMatt on May 30, 05 (1:10 AM) for version 2.1 (current version)   View Detailed Rating

For a while there I was though, "Man, someone should have made a package tracker, I'll do it this weekend". So I was bummed to find this one existed. Then I found that UPS was broken, and I thought I might have a good reason to make my own. Then I found out that this one has a newer version at their website (2.1.2) and UPS is fixed, so there is no reason for me to make my own.

A good widget that does exactly what it should. 5 stars for everything

Neat widget,... when it works. I'm using ver. 2.1.1. It works fine on FedEx and on the one DHL package that I tracked. I just tried my first UPS shipment and it returned an error message, suggesting that the number was wrong, but in checking the UPS site and doing a cut and paste of the same number, it came up fine.

Monkey Business Labs, take note. Perhaps UPS has changed their web site since this widget was released. I will be watching for the next release. Like I said, it's a neat widget,... when it works.

Posted by: JohnGaver on Jun 21, 05 (7:22 AM) for version 2.1 (current version)   View Detailed Rating

I have the same problem as JohnGaver with my UPS number. The UPS site shows it, but the widget doesn't. I don't have a problem with the design at all.

As of version 2.1.7 UPS tracking works fine.

DashboardWidgets, please update your links (http://www.monkeybusinesslabs.com/Package%20Tracker.wdgt.zip).

Current version from developer is 2.1.9. Unfortunately is no longer shows the package progress for UPS. I simply shows "In transit." Pretty pointless.
