Decorative - Peep Attack

Description: Inspired by the Apple Logo widget I felt obligated to create a Peep version. I suggest installing it on a friend's/enemy's computer and putting about 100 of them up and waiting for them to open Dashboard. A plethora of Peeps should be good for a laugh.
Of course if you really like Peeps they add a decorative touch to any Dashboard.
Peeps flip to reveal 7 different colors.
Brought to you by us guys over at Mindre Panda.

Version: 2.0
New in v2.0: There were a number of requests for more colors, so now you can flip through, Yellow, Green, Red, Purple, Orange, Blue, and Pink...plus a mystery Peep. This will allow for Peep motifs or collages or what not. I cleaned up the images a bit, they are a bit tough to get to look really good...it is a Peep afterall.

I hate peeps! But your widget it OK. The Picture of the Peep just looks a little off.

I should point out to anyone is unaware of what a Peep is that they are a marshmallow confection sold in conjunction with Easter and are made by the Just Born company located in Allentown, PA.
Also that the first official "Peep Attack" took place at approximately 1 PM on October 1st, my wife being the first victim. Her PowerBook was peeped with about 120 Peeps.

Ok, the widget is lame, but I have to give you credit for the peep attack idea. You get a 3.

Peep Attack Instructions:

1. Distract the victim of said Peep Attack, send them to the store, make them wash the car, what you will.
2. Download Peep widget onto a friend, enemy, spouse, co-worker, etc's computer.
3. Pull up about 100 Peeps on their screen.
4. Wait for them to open Dashboard or if that takes too long casually mention that you're interested in how the weather is going to be this weekend and if they could check it out with the weather widget.
5. Upon their reaction be all like, "Dag yo! You've been Peeped! Huzzah!"
6. Repeat on others.

Yea! The color idea is good. Or when you first drag it out, have it become a random color.

Posted by: Liquidrums on Oct 03, 05 (6:58 AM) for version 1.1 (previous version)

Oooh, I like the color idea, espcially the random one. I will see what I can do. Technically a Peep only comes in three different colors, but I'm sure we can overlook that in the name of humor.

All those question marks were supposed to be in the shape of a giant question mark.

So, you answered your own question. That is a giant question mark made out of question marks.

If you are referring to the Peep, please see www.marshmallowpeeps.com for more information.

Well, if there is an interest I have made a version that randomly displays a Peep in one of 7 different colors, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Green, Blue and Pink. However, since there is no need, it doesn't flip over. Would you like to see this as a totally different widget, or as an update of this one?

I'm thinking of calling it Peep Attack Pro.

hey meowza, it's a shame this isn't a standalone app...i could install it on my network and then remotely launch it (using SSH) which would fill their screen with peeps while they're working....!!!

Jeez, stainboy, if you have the skills to do that, then by all means feel free to develop such a stealthy Peep Attack application...hmm...just thinking of someones reaction to that makes me intrigued.

You know, I'm gonna post this here since some people seem to have gotten the wrong idea. This does not auto clutter a Dashboard with Peep's. You manually have to drag them off the Dashdockthing. I assume most people understand that.
However, I'd be curious if anyone knows a way to actually tell the Peep to dublicate itself such and such many times and distribute them on the screen. That kind of thing is beyond my knowledge. But, it would be interesting to see it in action if it was possible.
ALSO, if you have been the victim of a Peep Attack, or highly offended someone by performing one, you can of course open the Widget Manager and turn the Peeps off to get rid of all of them. Good advice if you really aggrevate that girl, you are interested in, in your Bio-Chem class by stalling here PowerBook.

If you or a loved one have been the victims of a Peep Attack, call 1-800-LAW now!

meowza: i'm no programmer, but you can easily run an application remotely if you can SSH into the target Mac (just type "open xxx.app" where xxx is the name of the application). i just imagine a standalone version of this app that automatically fills the screen with peeps, and then after completely covering the screen it flashes the message "YOU'VE BEEN PEEPED!" LOL!

siliconx: i thought it was "1-800-PEEP-LAW"!

That sort of reminds me of that Northwest Airlines commercial with the "Pink Slip Virus" thing. Well, being that I am also no programmer...obviously considering the widgets I've made...I will have to leave the creation of a standalone Peep application to someone with such abilities. Or I'll have to actually read that book on Java that I bought last year. I think the first choice is more likely.
Ahh...Peeps...never has marshmallow been so amusing...and so ridiculous.
