Aside from the large size, two MAJOR problems:
1. It has problems reading your mouse clicks and takes 20 clicks to press a button.
2. It will DEVOUR your CPU, no point in using it over the website.

No way to stop or otherwise control the music once it starts. None of the controls work. You have to kill the widget to stop it.
Wasn't worth even the time to download it.

Am I correct in assuming this is just an IFRAME containing the Flash file from the site?

My main complaint is the size and the iFrame look/feel. It is huge and clunky, but it works.
Aside from the scroll bars (I can only scroll by using the arrows), all other functionality works with out issue for me.
I am running parallels and a host of other apps and my CPU (1.83GHz Intel Core Duo) is virtually unaffected.

This is absolutely terrible. It's just the pandora website in an iframe. And the scroll bars don't work and the scroll up button at the top is hidden so if you scroll down you can't scroll back up and you then have no way to control the music at all. This is significantly worse than just leaving your browser open. The Windows Vista Pandora Gadget is WAY better. As are most things in Windows...
