System Utilities - Active Directory Password Expiration

Description: Mac users in corporate environments often log on to their computers with an Active Directory network account, which can force you to renew your password on a regular basis. The trouble is, it can be difficult to figure out when your password is going to expire, especially if you use OS X Leopard. Laptop users are even more at risk because their passwords can expire when they are traveling. This widget helps you keep track of your password expiration.

The number of days until your password expires is superimposed on a status light. The light is green if there are more than 30 days remaining, yellow if there are between 30 and 15 days remaining, and red if there are 14 or fewer days remaining.

For convenience, there is also a Change Password Now button that will (if GUI scripting is enabled) pop down the Change Password window in the Accounts preferences pane.

Version 2.1 brings offline functionality. It does this by caching numbers in a plist file when you run it while connected to your domain. When you're off the domain, it uses the cached numbers to calculate the days until expiration.
