Nice widget smiley
But the refreshing could be a bit faster smiley

All in all, a pretty nice widget - great job! However, there's still a few bugs and things.

1st, sometimes when browsing through previous strips, the widget does not resize properly. Sometimes the white border is distorted, others the whole widget does not resize to fit the strip, so that part of the strip is displaying outside of the widget

Also, when browsing through previous strips, the old picture becomes temporarily distorted whilst the new one is loading. Hardly a serious problem I know, but it doesn't look that great!

Also, whilst on the 'beautifying' subject, Apple has managed to make their Weather Widget so that it smoothly resizes itself. Would it be possible to implement the same thing here?

And finally, is it really necessary for the 'mini-mode' version of the widget to be so long. Seeing as this is probably the state that most people will leave it in generally (well, those of us with small screens), would it not make sense for the mini-mode to be as small as possible, all it really needs is to display the name, 'i' and zoom button.

Oh, and before I forget, could the 'back' of the widget display the version number. I think this should become the 'de-facto' standard for widgets ideally, since there seems to be no other easy way to find out such things for widgets.

1ste: thats al well know bug (also in Calvin & Hobbes)
finaly: We really want the 'stretcher' effect. Its a lot of work, but if we do it. The problem for 2 is gonne because the widgets can use the time to download the new (old) comic. If the stretcher effect commes it'll be intergrated to the minimize as well. So it would be a 2D resizing.

The exams are about to begin so the widget develpmont is now a bit slower.

But we are working on it.

Most 'bugs' are not really bugs but side-effects of loading another comic. I'm aware of it but I can't find a decent solution for it.

But I'll try to make a work-around for it... it will be released soon but I can't garuantee that it solves all the problems.

Anyway... this widget is just a temporary widget and will be replaced (in the summer holidays) by a far superior comic viewer... so stay tuned.smiley

note: the same for calvin&hobbes... it is and will be based on the same core.

It seems like I've got some competition here smiley (creator of the "garfield daily"smiley

Anyways, my widget is nothing compared to this one...congrats for that!

But I'm not giving up!(I was planning the same super comic viewer in the summer holidays)...until we meet againsmiley

Good work, too bad Garfield is the least funny cartoon in existence.

Great widget, but on my computer, the monday comics are the size of sunday comics, and the sundays are the size that the dailies should be. You need to move the stretching of the widget back one day.

that bug is fixed in the next update... it will be out today.

Sevallis, you suck! However, this widget is pretty cool.

I downloaded this widget about a year ago or so, but always had problems with it failing to reach the internet. I would usually get the error cartoon about "Sorry, there's a problem with the internet connection." Recently, the widget broke altogether for me, and would always display that message.

I sorted through the code and couldn't find a fix (everything looked okay). So I basically did a ground up re-write in Dashcode. Is anyone doing active development on this code? I'd be willing to share my work or post my version if nobody's working on a fix.

Having said that, I'm assuming that none of the images are copyrighted, preventing us from using them here.
