System Utilities - Storij

Description: How much space is left on your startup disk? Storij (pronounced “Storage”) provides up-to-the-second info in a sleek, simple and beautifully rendered interface.

Storij is a Widget for MacOS 10.4 “Tiger”. It has been optimized so that it will not consume any CPU power when in background. The lickable graphical pie-chart is rendered using Apple's new tag.

I really like this widget (so much so that I added the screenshot myself) but what I think it really needs is a way to switch the drives it monitors.

Just for the record, though, I don't want to lick it ("lickable graphical pie-chart"smiley.

very nice. tiny and it gets its job done.
any chance of a new version with the option of choosing which drive to monitor?

i have a firewire drive that i would like to monitor too. either in the same widget, or dragging in another one.

Great idea, but it probes the disc much too frequently: around once a second. Every time it probes, the disc makes a noise. It drives me crazy (and probably reduces laptop battery life).

Can the probe frequency be reduced to maybe once per five minutes, or be user-settable?

Great widget - I like the fact that it is so small.

i thought it would be twice as big... but its better small as i have a very cluttered dashboard. i cleaned it up today though. storij fits in below ichrono. maybe you could change G to GB.

Design-wise it's not bad, but "up-to-the-second info" is a bit excessive. The claim that it consumes no CPU power when in the background is complete bull****.
I never saw it go below 5 percent CPU even without using dashboard, and it's been over 10. It also causes the disk to make reading/writing noises constantly, which gets really annoying.

Not a bad concept, it looks nice, but definitely not worth a tenth of my processing power. Sorry, but this one's getting uninstalled until a reasonably optimized version comes out. It could update once every 10 minutes for all I care, it's not like I fill up a GB that fast anyway...

Nice, small and unobtrusive.
A great addition to my Dashboard!

I changed the lookup to once a minute on my copy and am curious to see what it does resourcewise on my PB. But so far I like it very much.

Looks great, love graphics and size, love the idea, but it does take up a lot of CPU while not running. Most people just need a rough estimate, and don't need the space updated every second, since a gig doesn't get filled that often.
