The graphics and functionality are top notch!

This is an excellent widget! However, it would be nice if it only showed 3 bins at a time, since it takes up a lot of space on my screen.

This is a very very good widget.

Two suggestions though, that would make it perfect.

1) If you could allow us to choose how many bins to display at a time. I would only need three out and it could save me some space. And who knows, some people might want more than five.

2) Drag and drop, drag and drop. I use Dragging and dropping between different expose functions all the time. If I could grab something, hit f12, and then drop it in a bin, it would double its usefulness. Please consider adding this feature.

Super useful and super beautiful! I also wish to choose a certain amount of clips a) to show at one time and b) total.

This is the best widget I've seen so far! Excellent work smiley

I couldn't make any recommendations beyond the ones that are already posted. You've got my vote!

Hi all,

To the users who've been requesting resizing be added to iClip lite, I'd just like to say that this is planned for an upcoming version (possibly v1.1 or v1.2). This will make it so that you'll be able to choose how many clip bins are shown.

Drag & drop is also planned, in addition to a bunch of other useful features.

Thanks to everyone for all the feedback so far! I'm really glad that you're enjoying iClip lite!!

In my humble opinion it's really something! It's something which makes me impressed....MEEEEEEEEEEN!This widget rulezzzzzzzzzzzzzz!smiley

Great product.

I too think 20 bins is a bit much, though. It's great to hear that this will be optional next version.

For those who can't wait (like me), you can easily make it have only 3 (or any number of bins) by changing the clipBinCount variable in the iCliplite.js file, and adjusting the window size in the iCliplite.css file.

A++

Btw, I voted for you,
and I second the notion for having automatic notification about widget updates! I don't want to miss one.

Keep up the amazing work, I'm still stunned.

First of all, I'd like to send out a big thanks to all who voted for iClip lite in the Mac mini contest!!

For everyone requesting an update notification feature in iClip lite, what I did was add a "version history" page with an RSS feed to the website:

http://inventive.us/iCliplite/VersionHistory/

Another Inventive application previously had an update notification feature, but unfortunately, some people (very incorrectly) thought that the application may have been maliciously "phoning-home". That couldn't have been further from the truth as I, personally, am *completely* against anything like that.

So, subscribing to the RSS feed will hopefully be a good way to find out about iClip lite updates...there are a bunch of useful features in the works! smiley

Thanks again for the votes and all the great feedback!

Great job, but I would have a preference on the back so we can decide how many bins we want. Also, can there be an option to use a smaller size, or maybe make a mini version? I don't need the amount of space this widget takes up.

I can go into the source code and give myself as many bins as possible, but this isn't very elegant, and it would be more appropriate to have a preference.

Posted by: avnit on Jun 09, 05 (4:23 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)

I forgot to add, maybe there should just be the number of bins showing that the user is using, and then there would be an extra, "drag or copy bin" separate from the rest and outside the scrollbar. Then when the user added a clip to this, a new bin would be added. When a bin is deleted, the bin would disappear.

Perfection!

I'd like an option to secure the "retrieve clip" buttons. Maybe they shouldn't work unless double-clicked.

Or I could just practice with my mouse. smiley great stuff this is.

Posted by: Lundmark on Jun 10, 05 (9:17 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

1: It should only show as many bins as are in use, plus one, so that it doesn't take up so much space unless it needs to, or maybe it should be made so you can choose how many bins are shown at once in the preferences, or so there's a scaling thing in the corner.
2: Finder documents should have a filename on them somewhere so that same filetypes can't be mixed up.
3: There should be shortcuts for copying, pasting, and deleting for each bin by clicking on one and pressing command+C, command+V, or Delete/Backspace respectively, because sometimes the small buttons are inconvenient.

Sure, no Widget will ever be perfect (unless they put you in a permanent state of complete happiness and satisfaction.smiley), but they can always be improved.

Excellent. One suggestion: An option to clean up, so if you empty a few bins here and there, you can quickly move all the remaining clips into the first bins without having to play bucket brigade. Also, text clippings are difficult to read in the current incarnation because the contrast is too low with grey text. Black text would be much easier to read.

How about an option to let the user select either horizontal or vertical orientation?

Posted by: MotleyFool on Jul 06, 05 (7:03 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)

I edited the code so that a single-click on a "bin" would copy the object to the clipboard. Easier to click that large bin than the down-arrow.

Otherwise, FANTASTIC UPDATE! I'm loving the "always-capture" mode!@

Works like a charm. Bugs fixed nicely. Not sure what there isn't to get about this widget. Copy something to the clipboard, store it in iClip Lite, retrieve the clip later when you need it. Perfect for sigs, patches or commonly used code, etc.

You need to fix your download link... I stopped the download at 75.4 MB... obviously this is a bit big for a widget.

Since your previous version is only 1.1 MB...

Posted by: fotodivr on May 06, 08 (8:57 AM) for version 2.01 (current version)

should be fixed now
