Miscellaneous - TinyDash

Description: A tiny widget for making tiny urls. Just drag-and-drop a url onto TinyDash, and the tinurl url is copied to the clipboard for quick access.

This widget taps into the functionality of tinyurl.com. In case you don't know what tinyurl does, it basically turns a long url into a short one.

I am constantly wanting to use tinyurl, but a bookmarklet can't copy to the clipboard, and it takes too long to go to the site and enter everything etc. The other tinyurl widgets don't let you drag-and-drop, or else I probably wouldn't have made this.

Note: Due to TinyDash's small size (50x18 px), it is very easy to lose. smiley

Works very well, good size.

Image had a bit of a mask problem but I fixed that in photoshop in 20 seconds so it wasn't a problem.

I must say, I like the interface of this one a lot. It's the first widget that I'm not afraid to keep in the Dashboard. Just drop it in one of the corners and losing it won't be a problem, at least for me.smiley Thanks.

zweben:

Could you send me the modified background, I thought there might have been something wrong with it? I'll upload it as a new version. Thanks.

Maybe a stupid question: But can't figure out how to drag-and-drop an URL from the Safari window which is below the dashboard to the widget sitting on the layer above it?

Click and hold the little icon to the left of the url bar in safari, then click F12, while still holding down the mouse, and then drop it into TinyDash

I can't get it to work. Seem just what I need, but there is no way to drop a link on it. The "+" symbol appears for mere nanoseconds before vanishing. Dropping a link on the widget produces no effect. Any tips?
