Decorative - Dancing Gir

Description: An utterly useless widget which shows Gir from Invader Zim dancing. I know there's hatred towards "useless" widgets, but hey -- I'm not claiming it's actually good for anything.

I stand him on top of Apple's calculator widget.

utterly AWESOME.

now if it had better anti-aliasing and had the ability to make not dance when the mouse wasn't nearby it would rock

This widget rocks! The only thing it needs is Gir quotes when you click on it (like the Konfab widget)

this was cool, but like applemaster said it would be nice if you clicked him he would pause for a moment and a speech-bubble would appear containing a random quote.

That's a good idea too, but I actually meant that Gir should speak the quotes, like with noise, but the speach bubble thing is ok.

Look,
Rule of thumb. If your widget has no JavaScript, it's not worth it.
A Decorative section does not invite any Widget who's HTML file is nothing but this:
<html>
<body>
<img>
</body>
</html>
If you're going to make a Widget which is intended to go in the Decorative section, it should at the very least allow the user to choose between multiple images of the theme of choice. If you don't know how to do this, then you should not submit your Widgets until they follow the said rule of thumb.

Multiple images would be cool as well, but I still want to stress the quotes. It needs to have some kind of response when you click on it (a spoken quote, a speech bubble, or even as simple as it stops dancing for a while). I, personally, think this widget is great!

problem is it takes up CPU when dashboard is hidden.

this is the best of the "useless widgets" one i would actually have running...

just dont want it to be taking anything while its not active.

I had this on Konfabulator, saw it on a customer's machine at the Apple reseller where I work, and had to have it. This is what led me to this site, actually.

And hey, Garcon? Choke on it. I like Gir and I want him to dance on my Dash. Therefore, this widget does, in fact, have a reason to exist.

Yeah, that generic image widget can't do animations (although I'm not sure, since I haven't tried it). Go Gir! I would like it to pause when the Dashboard is not active, though. Better anti-aliasing would be nice, too. Most of all, it would be nice for it to pause when I clicked on it. It's the only motion on my Dashboard and it can get kinda distracting.

Fun idea, terrible execution. With the jagged white border it's an eyesore. Looks like the animation was pulled from a web site and just tossed in a widget. With a little time spent--anti-aliasing it properly at the very least--it could be pretty cool.

The Image Widget (which lets you display any image) works with animation just fine, by the way. You can drag the animated GIF to it and it looks exactly the same.
