Author: FAVIBAR
Version: 1.1
New in v1.1: this time - only a better design and a tip, but im working on other improvements

TIP : if you want to save once a URL with a foreign country-code just type the country-code at the end of the word (theres no need to start wit http)

e.g. your configuration is changed to .com

"macwelt" + enter = http://www.macnews.com

"macwelt.de" = http://www.macwelt.de

This is very nice and usefulsmiley!
This also will stay in my dock smiley

There is one thing that isn't good... If I type this link: http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/just_added/

then he will launch this page: http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/just_added/..com/

Oh, thanks for your nice comment.
If you start with "http" the favibar should not add anything at the end of the URL

if you start with www. you get beginning http and the ending .com

e.g.

www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/just_added/ is getting www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/just_added/.com/

http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/just_added/ keeps the auto-URL-modus (no .com at the end)

i´m a beginner in javascript and worked weeks on that, but thanx for this "constructive" comment

I'm sorry, that was a bit mean of me. I found it confusing at first and I suppose I got irked.

I'll give some more constructive comments in a few days...because I'm going away. I'll try it out properly and let you know what I think. (took me ages to make sense of the little instruction pictures on the reverse of the widget. Maybe I'm a bit slow. It seems so obvious once you work it out.)

Thank you for the reply, i agree that my pictures are very confusing. At first i wrote a little "how to" on the back and that was totally long and uninteresting. So i tried that drawing. You´re right the result of this manual is not very good and i can´t expect that everyone´s having the patience or the time to try out how it works.

Yes it´s right too that (if you worked that out) it´s so easy to use. The most confusion not explained at the drawings is maybe that the widget works different if there´s something in the formular-field or not and if you close the input with "enter" (open safari and completes the URL) or with a click to a favicon (saves a new bookmark and loads new favicon-picture) or if you click to the categorie-field (changes the name of the categorie)

One thing is not possible with this widget:
change the name of the title of you´re favicon-bookmark. You can only change categorie-names.

I´m working on that. I try to make a better manual. And the next update will have a function to minimize it to the 9-rubric fields (per click).

I´m from german and do not know what the most important american bookmarks are. So i decided to to put randomly a few german bookmarks. I hope that´s not to scaring. I made this widget for everyone from everythere. (and for myself to learn a little bit javascript and how a widget works)

thx & greets David

actually... the manual on the backside of your widget is pritty good!
although it took me 30 sec to know how the widget workedsmiley

thanks

I tested the manual with my wife - she hadn´t a glue what this bird-pic describes. A surf-board or a Safari-Logo maybe would be better. I haven´t spended much time for the design of the widget. When i look at all the professional high-gloss designs of other widgets, i see that there´s a lot to improve. I should take the Photoshop book under my pillow smiley

It took me a little while to figure out how it worked, but it's nice.

Very nice idea, nice interface and good coding. I wish you could customize the names of the sections though.

thank you, yes i will add a function to customize the names of the sections

äh sorry, maybe i misunderstood something
(oh my english)

you are able to customize the (9) sections - just type the word and click into the section

i wanted to say that i´m working at a function for customizing the title of the 45 bookmarks (the title is auto-generated at the moment)

greets David
