Very cool. Simple and beautiful. Thank you!

I completely agree, just what an album art widget should be. smiley

very nice. any chance of an option on the back for size? i find it a bit large, but otherwise, excellent work

Posted by: mdc on Jul 14, 05 (11:53 PM) for version 1.0b (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

Nice job, however I do believe that it's just slightly too big, and I'd also like to see options for resizability (maybe like full size, 1/4 size, 1/2 size or something). Otherwise, a very slick album art widget. Keep it up.

love it!...the only thing that would be better is if it could search and download artwork if it was missing.

Posted by: lordryan on Jul 15, 05 (1:15 AM) for version 1.0b (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

It makes a refreshing change to have a widget designed by someone with a sense of style. Good taste in music, too, if the screenshot is anything to go by. Great stuff.

Great little Widget, i love it! But don't listen to the others who said that you must integrate this feature and this feature and download album artwork and so on.
The other one - "Album Art" - was in Version 1.x a nice thing, but now it's an overloaded widget with to many features. You never now where to click an what then. For me, this is an application. But yours a real widget. It does on thing, but that does it really good. Keep it simple!

(and sorry for my bad english...)

Hmm It doesn't seem to work for me no .... just a blank CD tray - any help?

Posted by: funkdaddy on Jul 15, 05 (10:08 AM) for version 1.0b (previous version)

Oh, it only uses what art, if any, is actually in your itunes library... I though this got it from the internet somewhere... bummer.

Posted by: funkdaddy on Jul 15, 05 (10:10 AM) for version 1.0b (previous version)

Any chance of having a version WITHOUT the CD Jewel case design, and just a simple key outline?

Posted by: prezet on Jul 15, 05 (5:37 PM) for version 1.0b (previous version)

Yea, prezet... really clever.

Seriously though, I love the design. Looks great. Would like to see rating pop-ups too so that I can rate my songs on the fly.

Posted by: Lundmark on Jul 15, 05 (5:43 PM) for version 1.0b (previous version)

I second prezet's request

Posted by: KaDJiiS on Jul 16, 05 (3:10 AM) for version 1.0b (previous version)

That's just stupid. Then where's the point? There are other widgets that will do that for you.

Gorgeous!

Well how about a resizing option?? This thing swamps my PB 12"!!

Posted by: prezet on Jul 17, 05 (11:52 PM) for version 1.0 (previous version)

Hi Guys.

I just won't you to know that i'm working on a new resizing and rating feature for my next iTunes Artwork release.

Oh sorry, i wanted to write: I just WANT you to know...

thanks for this - is resizing still being planned?

Excellent

To prezet:

Yes resizing and some more features are still planned. I just need a little more time smiley.

Posted by: sophie81de (developer) on Jul 25, 05 (12:15 AM) for version 1.1 (previous version)

Yee, you implemented rating! I love this thing!

Posted by: Lundmark on Jul 25, 05 (6:06 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)

Yes this is, by far, the nicest looking album art widget curently available. The resizeability will be great. Also, the ability to download album art would be extremely useful. Thanks for making this and keep up the good work.

Posted by: Lerch015 on Jul 25, 05 (6:50 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

I have to say that this is one of the best album art widgets ever! Please do not incorporate Amazon or anything like that....it is fine pulling album art from iTunes library. One suggestion - Can you make the widget so that it updates with every song. If one has more than one album cover for the album...the widget will only play the first one selected. The text and raiting will change, but not the art. Thanks! smiley

Posted by: Shark026 on Jul 29, 05 (1:40 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

I disagree, it *should* get artwork from the internet if it's not available in the iTunes library.

Posted by: KaDJiiS on Jul 31, 05 (5:33 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)

I disagree too, with you though. It should *not* get artwork. Why? Because such tools never work. They look at Amazon for 300x300 images that just aren't enough.

Anyway, I would like to ask if you think this widget should flip each time a new song plays, even if it's on the same album. It might be hard to implement, but I'd like it to not flip over when I play songs from the same album.

This thing is the best of its kind, btw.

Posted by: Lundmark on Aug 02, 05 (3:47 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)

Only thing I could hope for is resize.

Otherwise, it gets the job done, anyway. No problems *so far*.

Posted by: BagOfHammers on Aug 02, 05 (10:17 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

This widget is beautiful and it does exactly what I wanted.

Resizing would be nice, but please DON'T get images from the 'net. I can do that myself - and I want to be reminded when I haven't.

Posted by: ajwitte on Aug 19, 05 (5:21 PM) for version 1.1 (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

I agree. This is the best widget I've seen for Album Art.

However, I'd like to have the option to keep the song info visible, so I can see which song is playing, the raing, etc., even when I'm not moving them cursor over the widget.

That'd be great.

I don't really care about resizing, but I agree with only using images from the library.

What ajwitte said.

Great now that it has lookup support. Though I get nothing for an album I know is in amazon:

Garage A Trois'
Outre Mer

but others work... keep up the great widget!

Posted by: funkdaddy on Sep 16, 05 (9:45 AM) for version 1.2 (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

hmmm it seems ONE works the others don't weird...

Posted by: funkdaddy on Sep 16, 05 (9:57 AM) for version 1.2 (previous version)

Maybe make loading images from Amazon an option that can be disabled/enabled on the back?
Or what if it downloaded the image, but loaded a little watermark over the Amazon image that said something like "Interweb image", etc.
I agree that it shouldn't auto-inject images into your iTunes library, but downloading images, and giving the _option_ to add it to the library might be okay.

Posted by: link on Sep 16, 05 (10:36 PM) for version 1.2 (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

I'd like to see the ability to turn OFF the auto-obtain artwork feature.

Posted by: prezet on Sep 17, 05 (1:09 AM) for version 1.2 (previous version)

I'd like to give it a five, but it doesn't find anyting on amazon...

Posted by: Attila on Oct 13, 05 (7:58 PM) for version 1.3 (previous version)   View Detailed Rating

I like it much better now without the transition. It's about perfect now.

Just like me. I guess next time I will use a U2 cover, maybe Achtung Baby or Zooropa.

Posted by: sophie81de (developer) on Feb 15, 06 (9:31 PM) for version 1.4 (current version)

I love this widget, and while I'm not worried about resizing, there is one feature I'd love to see in a future version - a "Composer" display to go with Artist, Song Name & Album.

It works great with my popular music, but when I want both the performer and composer I have to pop back into iTunes (which doesn't have any option for Composer in its display either).

Would most likely be best as optional, since not everyone listens to classical music.

Keep up the great work!

Posted by: sappirance on Mar 01, 06 (3:33 PM) for version 1.4 (current version)   View Detailed Rating

No problem sappirance, the Composer will be a option in the next version.
